Project Description

In Bosnia Herzegovina, our remote controlled dredge DRP60 equipped with EL60 electric pump and 70m winches solved a problem for an important player of the steel industry.

The problem

Arcelor Mittal’s plant of Zenica (Bosnia Herzegovina) consists of an integrated plant with coke oven, sintering plant, blast furnace, steel plant (a blast oxygen furnace and continuous casting line), two rolling lines for rebar and wire rod and mesh plant and employs more than 2000 people.

The steel mill is periodically faced with the problem of removing the solids that accumulate on the bottom of the sedimentation pond of the plant.

The maintenance company was in need of an equipment that could operate in low draft and could be easily moved on the water surface.

The solution

DRAGFLOW advised to choose a remote controlled dredge DRP60 equipped with an EL60 electric pump: a safe and efficient solution to perform a proper maintenance without having operators onboard.

Our DRP60 can operate with a very limited draft and can easily be moved on the water surface thanks to the 70m winches.

Other interesting features:

  • Transportable in only one container 20’ open-top
  • Assembly operations takes as short as 6-8 hours
  • Highly Customizable
